Our shop

Each piece begins as a vintage silk sari — hand-selected in the markets
of Rajasthan, carried by decades of history before arriving here.

I choose every sari myself. I design every silhouette. Tanu and his
family atelier in Rajasthan bring each one to life, by hand.

No two pieces alike. No restock. Ever.

FAQ

What is the composition of the garments proposed by Yayavara Creation?

Yayavara Creation offers a collection of garments made of 100% silk, upcycled from Indian saris, the traditional garment of Indian's women. For the garment such as The Ceremonial piece, the lining is made of 100% cotton velvet. For the garment The Magical, the lining is made of 100% synthetic fur. This last one tend to disappear from our collection as we choose to go with 100% natural fabrics. Each piece is unique.

How can I chose correctly my size ?

Our selection is gender-free. We offer two sizes S-M or M-L.

S-M: 1,60cm-1,71cm
M-L: 1,71cm-1,86cm

If you are in between two sizes, it depends the style you want. M-L will look longer and more oversize.

How do I take care of my garment?

Best way to clean your garment: dry clean only to preserve silk and embroidery.
Or 20°C / 400 rpm cycle in washing machine, wash separated.

Are the embroideries on the garments done by hand or by machine?

The embroideries are both handmade and machine made depending of the sari.

What is the meaning of upcycling sari?

The term upcycling is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products perceived to be of greater quality, such as artistic value or environmental value. The saris or sarees are the traditional garment worn by Indian women. We select only premium second hand saris. Selected one by one, each sari is charged with its own history. Each piece is rare and unique.

Where are your garments manufactured?

Every Yayavara Creation garment is handmade in Rajasthan, India, in Tanu and Anju's family atelier — a small independent workshop where each piece is crafted with care, far from any industrial logic.

Rajasthan is also where our vintage saris are sourced — the traditional garment of Indian women. A sari averages 7 metres in length. I select each one myself, on every trip to India: I unfold them, examine the fabric, the embroidery, the quality of the silk. Every selection is deliberate.
Every piece is visualised before it is cut.

Tanu employs predominantly women in his atelier, as part of a commitment to empowerment and economic independence. Men and women work in two separate spaces, in keeping with local traditions.

The result: every Yayavara piece is one of a kind, born from the upcycling of natural vintage silk saris. Never reproduced. Never restocked.

Trop contente de ma pièce achetée chez Yayavara! Après une longue hésitation entre deux modèles, je suis partie sur un noir à sequin, super classe et qui s'accorde avec tout. Les tissus sont de très bonne qualité est la coupe est top!
